Deprecating CVS and Subversion imports

Tushar Gupta reminds us of Launchpad’s code import service, with this post informing users that ‘Concurrent Version System to Bazaar’, ‘Subversion via cvs2svn to Bazaar’ and ‘Subversion via bzr-svn to Bazaar’ will “no longer be supported”. We’re told the reason for this change, we are given the timeline for this change, with details of the migration path. We’re reminded this is a “call for action” if you’re in a project that still uses these import methods.

Guess the release 26.04 - R

Mauro Gaspari starts a ‘fun competition’ on guessing the codename and mascot for Ubuntu 26.04 ‘rr’. We’re given details of this, with Ubuntu Discourse badges being offered as prizes, and whilst there is no end-date currently specified, it’ll end when the official codename/mascot has been decided & announced.

Ubuntu Summit 25.10 Timetable

Debcrafters Digest – Vol 2

John Chittum starts by reminding us why testing is helpful, giving us a brief history of his work at Canonical in his journey, and the change of focus now to package testing. A link to a prior blog is provided which includes a simplified Package lifecycle diagram, with this article focusing on ‘britney’; which is the “heart of the CI system for Debian and Ubuntu”. John finally finishes mentioning discussions on improving the development workflow, and that Debcrafters are aware of some issues with fixes forthcoming.

The autopkgtest-dispatcher and the joy of clarifying terminology

Ural Tunaboyu posts a “second entry of our series on rethinking how autopkgtests are run on Ubuntu”. We’re told of “good progress on provisioning LXD clusters”, with this post made “in tandem with” John Chittum’s post (last item in issue) giving us some technical details of the ‘autopkgtest-dispatcher’ runs, and touches on the rewrite. The article ends telling us the ‘autopkgtest frontend’ will be covered next time.
