Julian Andres Klode writes about Apt 3.0’s solver which is in questing-proposed at time of writing. Ubuntu Unity 25.04 Brings Back Ubuntu’s Biggest Miss

Jack Wallen reminds us of Canonical moving away from GNOME desktop and creating their own Unity desktop. We’re also reminded of convergence which Ubuntu did with the Ubuntu phone, and can be seen more recently with Samsung’s DEX, and maybe where Google’s taking Android too. Jack said he ‘mourned’ the dropping of Unity, and Ubuntu’s return back to GNOME. He writes now about his favorite features, HUD and the Global Menu, and how they’re still there in Ubuntu Unity 25.04. He additionally discusses the pros and cons of using Ubuntu Unity based on his use and testing, with us given links for more, or to download.
