Call for testing: Ubuntu Frame (Mir 2.17 minor update, promote to core24), ubuntu-frame-osk and -vnc (promote to core24), mir-test-tools (promote to core24)

Matthew Kosarek writes that due to the release of Mir 2.17, a number of snaps were updated in respective channels. We’re given a list of these snaps, including channel & version numbers. We’re told there won’t be an update of the latest track, with users requested to switch to 20 or 22 for ‘least disruption’. Details, including how to switch to the testing tracks is provided, with a request to let developers know of any issues, otherwise these snaps will be updated to stable within a week.

This post tells us what is in the KDE Gear 24.05.0 release. With plenty of screenshots, we’re told of some new arrivals (Audex, Accessibility Inspector, Francis, Kalm and Skladnik), as well as listing some updates to key programs such as Dolphin as well as many others. NVIDIA 555.42.02 Linux Beta Brings Wayland Explicit Sync, GSP Firmware Used By Default

Michael Larabel writes about the release of the NVIDIA R555 linux driver in beta. We’re told this is the release using explicit sync and other improvements (some of which are mentioned). We are given a link where we can download this beta, and told some benchmarks will soon be coming.
