Event report - Ubuntu Korea @ GopherCon Korea 2024

Youngbin Han provides an Event report on GopherCon Korea 2024, where a booth was shared with Python Korea and AWSKRUG for two days. Youngbin, Euiseo Cha, and Gyuseok Jung of the Korean LoCo presided. Some event photos are provided along with some details of what happened, which includes an embedded video.

RISC-V reaches milestone with RVA23 profile ratification

Gavin Bonshor tells us the ratification of the RVA23 profile for RISC-V is a “monumental moment” for the architecture, allowing it to “compete with giants like Arm and x86”. Gavin outlines why this is significant especially in regards compatibility. We’re also told this is akin to a “foundation”, which now needs “actual silicon” to take advantage of this standard.
