  • Packaged the new upstream versions of gtk3 and gtk4 for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. These versions include my update of the emoji chooser data to the latest Unicode 15.1.
  • Documented details of how emoji updates work in the Ubuntu wiki

  • Packaged the new version of GNOME Network Displays which is much more useful for streaming video wirelessly to your TV, etc.
  • Uploaded GNOME’s new webcam app, gnome-snapshot, to the Debian NEW queue. Also uploaded it to the Desktop team testing PPA. Matthias Geiger did most of the packaging work here.
  • Did the libcamera 0.2 transition in Ubuntu (it’s been done now in Debian too).

  • Updated the GNOME Initial Setup packaging to 46 Alpha which drops the Online Accounts integration. (You can still set up your Online Accounts in the Settings app.)
  • Read through Simon McVittie’s update of the gobject-introspection policy. Simon has been doing a lot of work since November to enable gobject-introspection and packages using it to be more safe for multi-arch and crossbuildable.

Other News

  • The Debian GNOME 46 status tracker is live. Don’t expect GNOME 46 packages to appear until Beta though.
