  • Sponsored Sébastien Noel’s packaging of gnome-shell-frippery into Debian Unstable. This package has been on the wishlist almost as long as GNOME 3 has existed. Unfortunately, Debian is entering Soft Freeze now so the package won’t be included in Debian 13.
  • Sponsored Jochen’s work to update Debian’s bluez to the latest release. I also included contributions from two other people in this upload.
  • Worked with Marek to update the gnome-user-docs and ubuntu-docs packages in time for Ubuntu 25.04 Final Freeze. I hadn’t touched ubuntu-docs in years and my last substantial upload there was in 2013.

  • Collaborated with Matthias Geiger on the secrets package to fix 2 RC bugs
  • Uploaded Michael Biebl’s change to mutter to enable the option to choose fractional scaling by default in Debian 13 (as had been done previously in Fedora 13). This change isn’t as important for Ubuntu since Ubuntu has patched gnome-control-center to include an on/off switch for this feature. That patch adds new text that should be translated which makes it difficult for other distros to use. Ubuntu is rather unique in our ability to easily accept and apply translations for downstream patches.
  • Mo Zhou applied a change to one of their packaged GNOME Shell extensions to allow it to automatically update debian/control with supported GNOME Shell versions, so I copied that change to most of other other packaged GNOME Shell extensions in Debian. This will make it much easier for “someone other than me” to update these extensions for the future GNOME Shell releases.

  • Cherry-picked security fixes for poppler for Debian Unstable and Ubuntu 25.04 (which have also been included in older Ubuntu releases)
  • Copied the Ubuntu Security fixes for libsoup2 to Debian Unstable and Ubuntu 25.04
  • Collected the Debian/Ubuntu security fixes for libsoup2 for inclusion on the upstream GNOME branch for easier use by other distros

  • Helped Edubuntu 25.04 to only include a single pre-installed app to manage GNOME Shell extensions
  • Update the dependencies for gnome-boxes so that it will work “out of the box” for Debian 13 and Ubuntu 25.04
  • Got commit rights to Debian Salsa’s Java group and the Privacy Maintainers group, allowing me to more easily apply fixes for 2 RC bugs

  • Packaged the early releases of GNOME 48.1 components to get some of these changes into Ubuntu 25.04
  • Miscellaneous other package updates and fixes
