On November 2nd, SUSC(a nationwide university exchange organization in Korea), Ubuntu Korea LoCo, and Dong-A SW Centered University successfully held a Home Server Workshop at the Elice Lab Busan Center, with a total of 42 participants.
This workshop provided an invaluable opportunity for attendees to gain hands-on experience in operating their own servers, covering essential skills in server management, network administration, and system operations.
To accommodate participants who may have found it challenging to bring their own server equipment, we set up a consistent virtual environment that allowed everyone to work within the same setup. This setup ensured a smoother, more unified learning experience.
In the first session, Gyeongtaek Kim led a workshop on Proxmox, guiding attendees through building a virtualized environment and implementing Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
In the second session, @zeroday0619 led an LXD workshop, focusing on deploying Nginx within the LXD environment.
Thanks to Elice Lab’s setup, including an adjustable presentation monitor and enhanced audio equipment, participants could engage more comfortably and fully immerse themselves in the sessions.
If it weren’t for the support from Elice Lab, we wouldn’t have been able to hold the event in such a great environment. I am extremely grateful to Soohyun Kim from Elice Lab.
Additionally, Professors Younglim Choi and Yeji Jo from Dong-A SW Centered University greatly supported the event by managing YouTube live streaming and providing commemorative swags, contributing to a smoother and more enjoyable experience for all attendees.
