This desktop team was in Prague at an Engineering sprint this week and is preparing for the Ubuntu Summit the following week!

  • included the notifier in the snap and made it launch the firmware updater if an update is available #119

  • firefox 106.0.5 update is in the stable channel, and being prepared as debs
  • Mozilla agreed to cherry-picking the native messaging patch in the stable snap, this is now live!

Chromium

  • Edge: Fixed failure to build from source.
  • Edge, beta: Fixed critical bug that prevented Chromium from launching.
  • All channels had new upstream releases.
  • Addressed Apparmor denials by disabling Chromium’s motherboard metrics collection.
  • Enable translation bubble (the thing that the asks user if he wants to translate a page if it is in a foreign language).
  • Bionic: Fixed failures to build from source and performed the manual tests. Now it needs to be reviewed and released by the security team.
