• Lots of bug triage and user support in Launchpad and upstreams.
• Audited Plucky crashes, cross referenced and updated various bug trackers.
• Tidied up the X11 touchscreen fix and put it in a PPA for testing.
• Bisected a regression in Nvidia EGLStreams support and proposed a fix. Merged into Mutter 48.0.
• Set up a custom desktop and verified the proposed Nvidia phantom displays fix for Noble, which is now released to updates.
• The Bluetooth reconnect fix was finally released to Noble updates.
• Mutter 47.0-1ubuntu4.3 finally made its way to Oracular updates this week.
• Investigated new segfaults being reported from GNOME 48 on Plucky. Made some progress understanding the preconditions but upstream needs to get involved to better understand the root causes.
• Reviewed the Dynamic Boost spec for Alessandro.
• Prepared a new kind of interview and interviewed an engineering candidate.
• Merged and uploaded the latest Mutter release candidate to Plucky.
• Spent a couple of days on ppc64 build failures that were preventing the above upload from migrating out of proposed.
  • Learned how to build and configure a ppc64 VM running Ubuntu Server.
  • Spent two days trying to find the root cause, without success.
  • Reported two upstream bugs mutter#3972 and mutter#3971 on the matter.
  • Uploaded a new version to Plucky to work around the issue.
• The fix for silencing bogus onscreen keyboard warnings landed upstream in gnome-shell 48.
• More corporate housekeeping

• GIMP 3.0 was released today so I packaged it for Debian and Ubuntu 25.04
• gstreamer 1.26.0 was released last week and it’s already in Ubuntu and Debian
• GNOME Shell 48 RC landed in Debian Testing and Ubuntu 25.04. These are still the only distros (other than Rawhide) where you can get GNOME 48 without any additional repo, but that will change soon since GNOME 48 is releasing this week.
   
• Debian has now entered Transition Freeze. I managed to get in the latest versions of jpeg-xl, poppler, and inkscape.
  • I wasn’t expecting to update poppler but Papers 48 needed a newer version. The poppler transition required identifying and packaging fixes for several packages.
  • Build fix workarounds for other release architectures were identified for jpeg-xl and inkscape late.
• Completed the tracker→tinysparql transition and related cleanup tasks for Debian and Ubuntu
• Helped with completing various Ubuntu transitions and NBS cleanup
   
• Ubuntu 25.04 entered User Interface Freeze. Before that, I renamed the display names in Ubuntu 25.04 for Papers to “Document Viewer” and Evince to “Evince” since Papers will have its display name updated once it is accepted into GNOME Core (probably for GNOME 49)
• Filed a feature request bug for gnome-control-center to add a default terminal option. Now we just need someone to get the time to implement it.
