  • Discussed the RC of FreeRDP 3.0 with the Debian maintainer. Our plan is to package freerdp3 as a new source package to give more time for things using the library to adapt to the new version, similar to what was done with freerdp2. I intend for freerdp3 to be in main for Ubuntu 24.04 and freerdp2 to be in universe.
  • Submitted merge proposals to osinfo-db to update the Ubuntu 23.10 data for the release and add initial info for 24.04. This powers the download an OS feature in GNOME Boxes. Uploaded my changes to 24.04.
  • Updated the Desktop Team version reports for the changes to the sponsoring report

  • Updated the color emoji font in Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian to Unicode 15.1. Proposed stable updates for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Ubuntu 23.10 and Debian 12.
  • Updated the GNOME Characters app in Ubuntu and Debian for Unicode 15.1 and proposed stable updates for it.
  • Worked on updating the FreeDesktop SDK (used by Flatpaks) to include the color emoji font update
  • Updating the emoji data in GTK to Unicode 15.0.

  • Adopted pitivi for the Debian GNOME team
  • Removed Anjuta from Debian. This is an unmaintained IDE that has been superseded by GNOME Builder.
  • Removed a bunch of obsolete Rust libraries from Debian.
  • Miscellaneous package updates
