A few times I’ve reported bugs on launchpad, only to find later they are related to something else and should be closed. Is it possible for users to delete bugs they have filed and/or expedite the bug expiration process?
It would seem this could greatly reduce the amount of work the devs have to do.
For example this one I filed for evolution, we just discovered the issue was not with evolution but with the server:
No, only Launchpad admins can delete bug reports and that is something they do only in special cases.
Changing the status of bug reports created in error to “Invalid” is the correct process. That will hide any such reports from general bug listings. They will only be visible to users searching for “Invalid” bugs or by following links to those reports.
