Last weekend, At COSCUP 2023, Several Ubuntu LoCos in Asia organized a joint booth with Taiwan LoCo to promote their LoCo activity and upcoming UbuCon Asia X LibreOffice Conf Asia in Indonesia.
@sukso96100 (Korean LoCo), @fenris (Malaysia LoCo), @jipangmenjerit (Malaysia LoCo), @choo121600 (Korean LoCo), @hothead-jung (Korean LoCo), @rjhsiao (Taiwan LoCo), @masafumiohta (Raspberry Pi Japan + UbuCon Asia team), @bluet (Taiwan LoCo) @chihchun and more folks joined the booth to promote Ubuntu, LoCo activities and UbuCon Asia event.
Korean LoCo also organized a joint Korean FOSS community booth right next to Ubuntu TW X UbuCon Asia booth to exchange with Taiwan FOSS community. This time, C++ Korea and OpenStack Korea joined the booth to meet the Taiwan folks!
Over 2 days of event, Many folks from FOSS community, students visited our booth to learn about Ubuntu community and we were able to spread about the Ubuntu community and UbuCon Asia event (to be more specific CFP w/ 1-2day deadline and sponsorship info). As COSCUP is an event largely organized by Taiwanese FOSS community, A lot of Taiwan folks visited our event. Some were not fluent with English, But thanks to @rjhsiao @bluet and Taiwan LoCo folks, It was pretty smooth to talk with booth visitors.
Just like last FOSSASIA, A really quick (only 3 minutes!) lightning talks were also delivered by me and @jipangmenjerit to promte UbuCon Asia and upcomping GNOME.Asia Summit.
