I’m Frédérick from France.
I’m using GNU/Linux since university (starting in 2000, OMG I’m so old).
Since many years, I’ve especially used Ubuntu (and sometimes Debian).
I’m a developper (especially Java/Go/Rust), so I love algorithms but I hate hardware.
Now, I’m a new professional context and I’ll need a new installation.
For the moment, I’m coming for some help about compatibilities.
Hello. I’m a new linux user switching from windows. Learning to use a linux OS has felt a bit like walking over hot coals, but spending one more day in windows/mac land feels like bathing in a deepfryer so I’m okay with those coals. And I’m starting to really like my new os after using it for around a week. I was drawn here for needing support setting up a pc with Lubuntu. My terminal/bash skills are still ultra-novice, so I hope my cries for help don’t become too much of a bother. Thanks for setting up this great forum, I look forward to seeing what it has in store for me.
I’m back to Ubuntu after 7 year wondering in the Fedora world, which I use on a dual-boot machine with Win11.
I am not new to Ubuntu (or Linux/Unix) since I am using it since 2006ish, however it’s really great to be back. I went with the LTS version 24.04 and I am really impressed how slick and stable it is so far. My preference was always Gnome DE and even in Fedora I was using it, however it never looked as good as I’ve managed to configure it on my current build.
Speaking of machines, the reason for me getting a new clean install was that I’ve finally upgraded my beast of a machine: i7 14700KF, 64Gb DDR5 Ram with a GeForce 4070 GAMING X TRIO 12G. I use my Win11 boot disk for gaming and Ubuntu for coding and more or less everything else. This has been my build setup since 2006 and it’s working perfectly.
Used Manjaro for 5 years, it was my first Linux experience on PC and was awesome until this past year. My computer was taking longer and longer to boot and generally being weird. A few months ago an update absolutely bricked the system. Couldn’t reinstall Manjaro or a few other distros and finally got Ubuntu installed. Haven’t had any issues! It’s great. Haven’t even needed to go to a forum and ask any questions, everything works fairly as it should. It’s way breezier than Manjaro. Flathub is fantastic.

I’m currently exploring ways to get involved in the open-source community and connect with others who are passionate about technology, cloud computing, and innovation.
If there are any discussions or projects I can join, feel free to point me in the right direction!
Hi everyone my name is Cristiana and I’m a senior Learning and Development professional and consultant, with a Master Degree in Computer Science. I have had a passion for data science since my IBM days and I am currently experimenting with Python, developing Machine Learning models for predictive analytics mainly in the learning domain, although I do enjoy exploring further, driven by my curiosity about data.
On a personal note, I love dogs, long walks in London parks, and rock music. I am Italian so I also love pasta, pizza, and Nutella…nobody’s perfect!
Technology and innovation are in my DNA, and I am always happy to explore new things like Ubuntu for me…ready and eager to learn more about it Thank you
Hi, I’m a DevOps Engineer and Technical Writer passionate about automation, infrastructure, and clear developer documentation. I enjoy simplifying complex technical workflows into repeatable processes using Bash, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
Whether I’m deploying scalable systems or writing guides to help others do the same, I aim to bridge the gap between engineering and clarity.
Currently exploring ways to contribute back to the community through tutorials, automation tips, and open knowledge sharing.
Hey everyone! I am fairly new to coding and computer technologies though i am enjoying spending lots of time learning. If anyone has any information on Studio one or just DAWs in linux i would be all ears! I look forward to being involved in the community!
