A complete description of your contributions to Ubuntu
I have been installing Ubuntu on people’s machines since around 2010. I started with Debian, then Knoppix to Damn Small Linux, and quickly moved to Ubuntu because the social aspect and community excited me. I became an official participant at the beginning of this year. I recently took over leadership of the Illinois Ubuntu LoCo, and am planning to develop that group while helping to build local groups across the state. Years ago I was involved in the Linux User Group of Peoria, or LUGOP, where I distributed tons of Ubuntu books thanks to partnerships with publishers. The reason I am applying for membership is the recent call for members to join the Community Council, and it’s my understanding that one needs to be a member before being a part of that group.
Thank you for considering me for membership. I am certain I can provide value to the community and help get more people involved in the interconnected human family. I believe transferring the connectedness of the digital realm to a real-world community is critical to building numbers.
Unfortunately, I don’t know many folks directly involved in Ubuntu to ask for a testimonial. I will gladly take any recommendations to help build my Ubuntu network of associates.
Take Care Now,
Zac
