X11 and Cygwin

Hi I am using cygwin for years to access my virtual machines, ubuntu server instances via x11
works great: https://x.cygwin.com/docs/ug/setup.html#setup-cygwin-x-installing
with the latest LTS 18.04 i get this message:
xterm: cannot load font “-Misc-Fixed-bold-R---13-120-75-75-C-120-ISO10646-1”
after starting xterm

Any idea what goes wrong? and how to fix it?
