I just tried it on my cell phone (Samsung S21). I turned off cellular, and WiFi only. I did a speed test, and it got repeatedly 300+Mbps speeds. So, the WiFi router is putting out the speed, but the Ubuntu PC and Panda USB WiFi are not making the grade.
Well, yeah, of course. But, that is not the solution to a wireless problem. I’m in an old house, and wiring is “difficult” at best. I honestly thought WiFi would allow me to circumvent all the wiring issues.
The distance is probably less than 30 feet, so an extender is not necessary. Also, my son’s laptop a room over got 260 with the built-in WiFi.
Hard wired is always better, but that is not the answer to “Why doesn’t my Ubuntu WiFi work properly?” Nor are the above suggestions. This is a BRAND NEW WiFi 6 router, which replaced a slower, but working, WiFi 5 router, both NetGear.
Yes, rebooted router. Other devices within same distance work at high speed. Panda support says it is them, and it is a cheapo antenna (basically). Ugh. Was hoping to avoid hard-wiring.
