This didn’t work for me. I followed the link and downloaded my “favorite Ubuntu image”* (ubuntu-24.04.2-live-server-amd64.iso) and I could not find a live-CD option (it only seemed to have an install option in spite of “live” being in the name.)
- I chose the server version because that is what I originally installed on my VM. I wanted to boot the VM from an ISO so I could grow the partition.
I ended up downloading the desktop version and was able to easily get a live-CD version working. (alas my partition growing task didn’t go so well.)
Suggestion: Clarify that one should choose the desktop ISO since the server ISO doesn’t have a live CD option. Also change the name of the ISO file to omit the word “live.” If the server ISO does in fact have a live-CD option, make it more obvious how to access that “mode.”
