What will you use WSL for?

Hi everyone,

What are you using, or what are you planning to use, WSL2 for?

We had an annecdotal story the other day that folks are excited about being able to run Node inside WSL, so we’ll be looking at how we can make updating those packages as easy as possible.

What will you be doing with WSL2? If none of the below, leave a comment.

  • Bash/Shell
  • C/C++
  • Dart
  • Docker
  • Go
  • Haskell
  • Java
  • Microk8s/K8s
  • Node/Javascript
  • Kotlin
  • Perl
  • PHP
  • Python
  • R
  • Ruby
  • Rust
  • Scala
  • SQL / NoSQL Server
  • Web server

None of those. That is, I won’t be using WSL at all on Windows. This WSL is for the coders, so they can work on their projects without leaving Windows. So that they don’t have to dual boot any more. So they would use Windows as the OS of choice.

WSL is not created to prove how

, but to make sure those coders stay away from Ubuntu as an OS.
