Weird issue with 5Ghz Wifi disappearing

Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (Fully Updated)
ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero (WI-FI) Motherboard

I’m using a ISP provided 5G Mobile Internet Modem, with an external antenna (cell tower approximately 70m across main road), and configured for 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz Wifi. Modem is across room, around 3.5m from Wifi antenna connected to M/board.

About six months ago, the 5Ghz started randomly dropping out, then working when reconnected, then after a few days it would completely disappear. I’d have to do a factory reset of modem, reinstall config file, and all would be good for around 9-11 days. Then repeat, process again.

I’ve had the modem replaced through the ISP but, the issue has started occurring again in the same time frame as original modem, which is starting to make me look beyond the modem being the source.

Checked all update information on M/board, no mention of Wifi, and only updates related to MS Windows. BIOS only has facility to switch Wifi On/Off, with no other settings.
Control Centre has no controls either.

There is also a major difference between 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz when running a speedtest on speedtest.net. I’ve had up to nearly 5X faster downloads on 5Ghz, compared to 2.4Ghz.

I’m at the point where I’m at a total loss to trace cause of issue. Obviously I’m also contacting ASUS to see if they can be of any help
