Problem Description:
<Very slow installing programs using the command line. For example, installing Wine was going to take over 4 hours with a download speed of about 800k. If I run an internet download speed using a browser my download speed is over 100MB which is about half the speed of other devices in the house - TV, smartphone, different laptop running Linux Mint

What exact command did you run?
Where was it trying to download Wine from?

I used the command line sudo apt install wine64 after an update. Everything seems a bit slow running Lubuntu but I’ll keep it going for a while to see if there’s something I’ve done wrong. I don’y understand why the system should only run at half the speed of everything else.

The output of this command should have shown where exactly it was downloading packages from. Do you remember which hostname(s) were showing as downloading at ~800kbps?

Please post the output from running the following command in Terminal, which will list all possible places your system might download an apt package from:

apt-cache policy

In Preferences > Software Sources > Ubuntu Software, does it help if you set “Download from:” to use a different mirror?
