Would it be possible for someone at Canonical to pick a different background colour for this tile, if possible. Probably white (maybe black)?!

OMG, this really looks horrible and doesn’t follow the branding guidelines.
Do you know who to ping from the WSL team @didrocks ?

It’s funny because @jibel and I recently had a look at this, discovering it as you did (the background is the default Microsoft Store icon backgrounds). We are working with design to redo all icons for WSL.
So, this should be fixed soon, and we will get for each point release (probably not 20.04.3 though) a better icon aligning to the guideline.
