Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter
The Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter is read widely by the Ubuntu community and many members of the media.
The team collaborates largely on IRC in #ubuntu-news on libera.chat.
Workflow Overview
Contributors collaborate here on this discourse to collect links from the week. Anyone may suggest links (via irc or email ubuntu-news-team@lists.ubuntu.com).
A new skeleton is copied from UWN Skeleton/Template to the new issue which starts the process.
During the week, new articles are added, and on Friday these links are reviewed and reorganized, some may be deleted if there are too many or there are content issues. Over the weekend, summary writers can add summaries to the articles.
Early in the week Ubuntu Stats/Reports are added, and the review process is started.
The newsletter is released at approximately 20:00 UTC time on Monday (for weeks with no releases, no special news or minimal announcements, a two-week issue may occur).
Contributing to the Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter is great way to learn more about our Ubuntu Community whilst giving you a more active role within it. If you’d like help with any part of this process, please contact us on IRC or email us using the mailing list (ubuntu-news-team@lists.ubuntu.com), anyone can subscribe to the ubuntu-news-team mailing list.
