Ubuntu touchscreen trouble

I have installed a brand new Ubuntu Desktop 24.04.1 LTS. There are two 22 inch touchscreen monitors on the computer. At first I had problems with the calibration of the touchscreens, but then I was able to solve this with ‘xinput’ and ‘map-to-output’. Since then, the touchscreens have been working - well, almost:

The programme that is mainly executed there, and must (!) be operated via touchscreen, only reacts if you press with two fingers at the same time. At first I thought that this was a problem with the program itself, but then I realised that some system dialogues (e.g. Power off/Reboot) also only respond when I use two fingers.

Other system programmes (e.g. the device settings etc.) work perfectly with just one finger.

I’m confused - does anyone have any idea what this could be and how to fix it?

Thank you!
