Some Acer PCs need a Supervisor password in the UEFI/BIOS settings.
Somewhere within Security or Authentication?

Welcome to Ubuntu Discourse

Please describe how you put the ISO on the USB stick; with Rufus, Ventoy, something else?

Generally speaking, if the system is UEFI you need to make sure the ISO boots and installs in the same mode.

I ended up using balenaEtcher, tried following the tutorial on the ubuntu website. Had a few issues downloading it as it wasn’t an iso file. Re download and it came as an iso and then put it on the usb. Works well when you try ubunto on the usb, connects to wifi, bluetooth etc. Just won’t reboot once ive installed it.
Tried have having ubunto installer create partitions. And tried ceating partitions myself with out luck

Yep, i had to create on to disablesecure boot. Seems to work ok?

I’ve found that the following USB tools are reliable:-

Just ran boot repair while trying ubuntu on usb. The url for that is Ubuntu Pastebin
If thay will help.
Says something about a locked NV-ram??

Locked-NVram sometimes refers to Trust security settings.
I see that you have already disabled TPM but there may be another sub menu with other options?
Can you have a look around your UEFI settings and see if you can disable anything similar to below:-

  • TPM (Trusted Platform Module)
  • PTT (Platform Trust Technology)
  • FTPM (Firmware Trusted Platform Module)
  • TPT (Trust Platform Technology)
  • PSP (Platform Security Processor)
  • Device Guard
  • OS Optimised Defaults
  • Lock UEFI BIOS Settings
  • Boot Order Lock

Looks like you were onto it, i found the settings in the photos and enabled the all. Thanks for your help, much better than chatgtp lol.

I’m pleased that you found the setting - well done.

I think that I’ll re-register as chat-tea
