UbuCon Asia is an event organised by Ubuntu Communities in Asia. It’s for everyone who is involved with or interested in Ubuntu, Linux and other Free and Open source technologies. It is also a place for Ubuntu people from Asia to connect, learn, and share their knowledge with each other.
If you are interested in submitting a bid to host the event for the year 2024 in your city, please send an intention to bid by end of the day on the contact at ubucon.asia. Intentions should be submitted by email to contact at ubucon.asia.
UbuCon Asia organisers are available for any questions at contact at ubucon.asia.
Your bid should demonstrate that:
- The location is easily accessible by plane or train from major cities in Asia
- You have a motivated local team with a few core members, preferably with experience in event organisation
- A suitable venue is available to host the event
- There are affordable accommodations and places to eat
- There is a local industry and government support
- Your local team can raise and handle funding and contracts for the event
Your bid should also include:
- A rough cost estimate for the conference budget
- Answers for bids checklist

Note that countries already hosted UbuCon Asia recent years are not eligible for bids this time as one of this event’s purpose is to engage with diverse Ubuntu LoCo in Asia. So Korea(hosted in 2022) Indonesia(hosted in 2023) are not eligible.
