TPM-backed Full Disk Encryption - Issues with Dell new BIOS for Ubuntu 24.04.2

Hello, everyone.

I have tried already a first install of the 24.04 with the new experimental option to full encrypt the drive with hardware support (TPM) successfully, using a Latitude 3410. But this one had a previous version of the BIOS, and installed smoothly.

This time, I am trying to install in a Latitude 3400 with a bios version 1.34.0 from 2019.

And for this one, I am getting troubles. After the same installation I did before, I am getting a screen asking for the recovery key for the disk, showing that the TPM is not storing correctly the key.

Unfortunately, the sources of information regarding this problem and troubleshooting steps are really few, and I found only 2 topics with this problem. And no solution at this moment.

What I already did until now:

  • Reset bios to factory defaults
  • Disable Absolute
  • Switched on and off the PPI options for enable, disable and clear commands
  • Changed the disk operation from RAID to AHCI
I’ve already tested a bunch of options inside the BIOS to see wich one is the responsible for the issue, but no luck until now.

Do someone have any clues to solve this puzzle?

Below, images from BIOS and the problems after install, and links with topics for the same problem in different laptops.
