Task Manager

I am just curious on this. Why Ubuntu never had a Task Manager ? I am using System Monitor app for similar functionality. Isn’t something that can be useful in the core ?

As far as a GUI goes for system monitoring and process management, System Monitor is the answer. And I believe System Monitor is installed by default, so that is core already.

What is it that you feel is missing?

I upgraded from 14.04. At that time, system monitor was a separate app. I was under the impression it still is.

No, System Monitor is a core app installed by default. Just as in Windows, taskmgr.exe is the same. There’s no difference, so I’m not sure what you’re asking.

In that case, I never knew System Monitor app was included into core. It wasn’t when I added it.
