I have also received many of the same emails. I do not know why either. I do not understand the application of a new tag to very very old and long since closed bugs. I do understand adding a new tag to open bug reports.
That was @juergh doing some housekeeping with a bug management script, nothing to worry about…
What kind of housekeeping is that? I get something like 20 e-mails yesterday and I am probably subscribed to the bugs of much less packages than other Ubuntu packagers.
What is the role of @juergh at Canonical?
He is part of the kernel team…
Yeah sorry for that noise. I added tags to bugs that were reported against the kernel and didn’t consider that this triggers emails. My bad.
No need to apologise. I think anyone subscribed to a large number of bugs should be able to quickly filter on the common attributes of the spike and mark them all as read. I started my day with 633 bug emails but quickly got it down to around 60 real ones.
