Status of DELL precision 5490 with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Hello, I have a DELL Precision 5490 that comes (and is certified) with Ubuntu 22.04.

When I got it last summer, I tried to install Ubuntu 24.04 but I had issues (1) with the built-in camera (dead), (2) with hibernation (no resuming) and (3) with suspension (eating 100% of battery in a couple of hours!!)

I wonder if anyone of you has it now running with Ubuntu 24.04 and these issues has been resolved in the meantime.

pipewire is new, kernel is new(and also hwe version), intel media stack and driver is different, ipu web camera changes and more official release status, maybe encryption changes and now also changed sha versions in new kernels and also rt stack…

maybe new recertification, maybe some changed packages, but Dell should have testing framework for this(Intel have one among others drivers) and finding issue or regression in between make it more testable if desired that way if they not outsourced this to 3rd parties for more practical testing approach and filling bugs and outsourced work to fix things…

currently there is only 24.04.2 and maybe you are first to spot things this way…
