Im running an ubuntu 24.04 server with on-prem landscape 25.04 to test out security profiles.
When creating security profiles with recurring logic they will fail to get created and not show up in the profile overview.
The process completes as it should with no error messages, but the profile will not show up and it will not run (ie. its not just invisible, its not creating any activities etc.)
Gif shows creating new profile with recurring. It is not showing up regardless of filters. Refreshing the page or pressing “security profiles” on the left menu to reload the page does not help.
I have also tried restarting the landscape-server service as well as looked in logs, but i was not able to find anything of interest.
I’ve seen something similar on 25.04.
– If I set the profile to run once, it appears normally, but recurring ones don’t save.
– Nothing obvious shows in the web UI, but the server logs under /var/log/landscape-server/landscape.log did show a silent 500-error when saving the recurring job.
You might check that log (and landscape-appserver.log) right after trying to create the profile. If it’s reproducible, it’s likely a bug in the 25.04 build rather than mis-config. I’d file it on Launchpad → landscape or open a Canonical support ticket if you have one.
In the documentation its specified that you cannot set the recurring profile to less than 7 days.
The web GUI lets you set it to whatever you want, and when creating the profile it says that everything is OK. Of course, it isnt. It does not save the profile when set to less than 7 days…
Recurring: A start date and end date between which the profile will execute repeatedly, with the provided number of days between executions. The recurrence cannot be more frequent than once every seven days.
