Screen Brightness Adjustment

Hi,

I tried to use xrand, nvidia-setting and brightness-controller to change the screen brightness. They all worked. However, they all need me to re-execute after reboot. Does anyone know the reason? For example, I set the brightness in nvidia-setting, after reboot, I need to open the nvidia-setting and the setting then reflects in screen.

Even I created the script and used Startup tool to make them auomatically excuete after reboot. Not work.

This looks like a support request. This site is for the co-ordination of the Ubuntu project(s), and other non-support matters. For Ubuntu Support options, please have a look at https://community.ubuntu.com/t/finding-help/709

Ideally you don’t want to use any software brightness controls because they work by reducing the range of colour available. To adjust brightness properly without losing colour quality you should use:

  • Your monitor’s brightness controls/buttons; or
  • Your laptop’s backlight keys/buttons.
