Who am I?
I have been a long time contributor since about 2012. I was on the community council once before about 10 years ago, so I know the process, though things might have changed
I am the Kubuntu lead developer and release manager, I also maintain about 200 KDE snaps.
I get along with everyone I interact with and enjoy working in the open source world!
Why do I want to be elected?

Improve new contributor on-boarding with updated documentation and guidance. As a flavor lead it is overwhelming the amount of work that goes into this. We need new contributors to relieve some of the stress the flavors experience, as most are volunteers with limited time.

Improve user and developer communications and narrow communication to enhance user experience. Currently as lead developer I have to search user feedback all over the interwebs ( reddit, various forums, multiple chat platforms etc) and it is not ideal. We have defunct forums that I can’t even use and the admins are no longer around to fix. I would like to direct our users to one active community where they can thrive and build relationships with developers and hopefully be inspired to become contributors themselves! Discourse seems like a good place, outlining a plan to encourage its use by users and developers alike is where I would start.

With my focus being on new contributors, I would like to find a way improve our documentation, Wiki’s, and HOW-TO’s in general. Most are very outdated and could steer new contributors away in frustration when things don’t work as expected. I would like a place for new contributors to be able to go for questions and concerns. This place would have links to fresh new guides to achieve most things a new contributor would need to know to get started.
Thanks for your consideration,
Scarlett Moore
