Resolute Raccoon Release Notes

Resolute Raccoon Release Notes

Release notes have moved

Starting with Ubuntu Resolute, we’ll be writing our release notes using GitHub and Read the Docs.

You can find the new repository here: ubuntu/ubuntu-release-notes.

Ubuntu Resolute release notes are currently being prepared on the resolute branch. See the draft preview and note the separation between LTS release notes (differences compared to Noble) and interim release notes (differences compared to Questing): Ubuntu 26.04 LTS release notes.

Expect a detailed post explaining the reasons for the migration and a long-term vision soon.

Current state

The exact format is still taking shape but all release notes that were written here in Discourse have been migrated to GitHub. A snapshot of this Discourse post before being overwritten is available here: Resolute Raccoon Release Notes (before migration).

Submit a release note

To submit a release note, we currently recommend that you create an issue on GitHub. The issue template will guide you through providing all the necessary information so that your release note can be categorized well:

Add a release note

If you prefer, you can also submit a release note via a pull request. Fork the repository and edit the 26.04 files on the resolute branch. Submit your PR against the resolute branch of the original repository.
