Dariusz Gadomski (@dgadomski) has backported the needed fix into the current (1.10.6) version and put up in his PPA for testing. I have tested it and it at least fixes this bug. Now I suggest that the SRU gets replaced by this version in this comment. For the new SRU upload someone with upload rights for network-manager is needed.

As the update to 1.10.14 (SRU of [Bug #1754671] (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+source/network-manager/+bug/1754671)) caused regressions and we fix that bug by simply only backporting the appropriate fix, should we close this bug report?

Looks like this needs a new, backport-based SRU as the network-manager 1.10.14 as SRU has failed and is going to get replaced by a simpler SRU (see above).

eoan: Fix released in August.
disco: The proposed patch for disco is still awaiting review in Launchpad
bionic: Not reproducible on bionic with any driver version so far. There were also no bug reports from bionic systems. Waiting for someone to confirm, otherwise no bionic fix would be needed or verifiable.
