Quantal 13.04 usb mouse/keyboard not detected on LXDE

Asking because could not find other information about the old quantal 13.04 version usb mouse/kb issue on the internet.

USB root hub device seems to be initialized but does not power up any devices (keyboard, mouse). So I cant use LXDE desktop, because keyboard and mouse are not detected. Another linux distro install (mister fpga on the arrow sockit device) can use mouse/keyboard powered up on the same device directly. Also the keyboard and two mouses tried work perfectly on other computers. so its a linux/software issue. I have not tried later version of ubuntu, because it requires software setup present in the install linux image that is not present in normal install versions directly.

What would be the issue?

Note: I’m using the console through serial terminal, so I can make normal modifications on the console, using keyboard and mouse.

Quantal is end of life and no longer supported. I suggest you run a final full backup. Wipe the install off and do a clean install of Noble (Ubuntu 24.04). This is LTS and supported until April 2029. You can then restore your user data from the backup

I dont currently have support for the arrow sockit fpga device software for any later versions of ubuntu, otherwise I would have already done such upgrade. I prefer any ideas on quantal 13.04, before attempting any later versions of ubuntu, with the required software used in the current quantal 13.04 version. ie I have to do effort to transfer the software to updated ubuntu, which is not preferable.

Note: I am aware of eol.

Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) is End of Life

as is Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) End of Life

Neither are supported by Ubuntu.

Sites like Stack Exchange Unix & Linux allow you to ask questions about any Unix like system, including EOL/EOSS releases of Ubuntu, so general community support still exists, but Ubuntu support for Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) or Ubuntu 13.04 (raring) ended long ago.
