Hello!
There are topics that will be relevant to all our community, not just to the English-speaking sub-group; and we need to make those messages reach every part of the world. For example, take a look at the invitation to the Ubuntu Community Appreciation Day.
We are all different, so making this work will be hard, of course; but this is a great chance to make the best of our differences, and embrace the pluricultural aspect of Ubuntu. To be honest, I don’t know how to do this kind of translations; but there are many many opportunities here, so let’s just experiment! Here is a proposal:
- If you have a post that you want to get translated to other languages, first write that post in English.
Be explicit on your post that replies on any language are welcome. Keep it as short as possible. - Post a call for translators in the Translation category of this hub, asking for people to leave their translations in a reply there. For example: Call for translators: ubuntu community appreciation day - Translation - Ubuntu Community Hub
- Edit the original post to add a text like this:
Translations
english/ This post is translated to: -. More translators wanted! (link to the call for translators) - Every time a translation is ready, go back and edit the original post. Add a subtitle at the bottom with the name of the language (
# español/
, for example), followed by the translation. - Add the
translated
tag to the original post.

And get ready because things will get crazy pretty soon. Google translate is your friend.
Any suggestions or alternative proposals are welcome.
pura vida.
