Problems with Mouse Natural Scrolling when close and open the laptop lid

Hello everyone

I don’t know if this is the best place to report this, if not, please tell me where I can report this problem.

I’m on Ubuntu 20.10 (loved it so far!!) but I have now notice a problem my laptop, is a “new” Thinkpad T460 hahah, I notice that I can have the trackpoint configuration with the Mouse options in the settings I like use Natural Scrolling so I can use the scrolling (middle botom) of the trackpoint exactly as the touchpad.

The problem is: When I close and open the lid of the laptop the Natural Scrolling stop working with the trackpoin, so what a have to do is going tho the setting and turn off and on the mouse Natural Scrolling so start working again.

Thanks for any help or guide to where I can report this

This site is for the co-ordination of the Ubuntu project(s), and other non-support matters. For Ubuntu Support options, please have a look at https://community.ubuntu.com/t/finding-help/709

For bug reporting, the wiki provides the likely best place to look, ie. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

You can file reports on your machine with the command

ubuntu-bug <package>

where <package> is the package which you believe contains the bug, which can be changed if discovered to be incorrect. The kernel & many kernel modules (ie. drivers) are in the linux package.

I think that this particular issue has already been reported. There is a PPA with a patch which is believed to fix the issue:

https://launchpad.net/~gunnarhj/+archive/ubuntu/mutter

If you like you can install the mutter packages from that PPA and have it fixed instantly. If you do, you can help by adding a comment on the bug report about the result.

Edit:

Correction: I see that you are on 20.10, and that PPA only contains mutter for 20.04. So please don’t install from the PPA.
