Problem with Thunderbird

Hi! Recently i tried to install Thunderbird 60.0 in Ubuntu 18.04 (beacause predefined thunderbird is v 52.9.1 and didnt let me update) so i downloaded 60.0 for ubuntu in thunderbuird official website. It installed, all good, i can open it with ~/thunderbird/thunderbird/ through terminal, but at time of open it through the left bar (idk the name) or through the apps’s menu, it opens old version, i created a launcher in desktop, it worked, but if i add it to favorites, i close it and open again, it opens 52.9.1. SO every time i want to open thunderbird, i need to go to desktop. I know is no a big trouble, but i want to know if it have solution.
(ALso, i know this post have to be posted in mozilla forums, no in ubuntu forums, but it dont let me post :frowning: )

I’ve moved this to the https://community.ubuntu.com/c/support-help-requests category because this site isn’t designed to take tech support questions. Sorry. I’d recommend using one of the official support channels listed on the https://community.ubuntu.com/t/finding-help/712 page.

Basically, you seem to have multiple versions of Thunderbird installed. Uninstall the wrong one, and keep the right one. You might need to edit the .desktp file to point to the right one. There are several AskUbuntu threads on the topic.

There are some terrific gurus in our help forums waiting tho assist you further.
