somebody has problems with linux-modules-extra
It looks to me like all these users with the issue seem to use something like synaptic which probably simply does not use apt full-upgrade and thus does not install required dependencies during upgrades, this should not go here into this thread but become a proper launchpad bug so it can be researched further …

I do not have Synaptic. In case it helps.
You need to have the meta package [1] installed that depends on modules-extra to keep all kernel packages up-to-date.
[1] linux-image-generic or linux-generic or linux-image-generic-hwe-24.04 or linux-generic-hwe-24.04.
My Linux install is comparatively new. I have not done much, installed GIMP, Inkscape, Flathub, similar.
