[Poll] Feature Comparison: Ubuntu EKS vs Amazon EKS

Canonical provides Ubuntu worker node images for Amazon’s Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS). To improve the images and give better access to customers, we are looking for feedback about the current Ubuntu EKS usage.

Which of the following features would you prefer to have in Ubuntu EKS AMIs?
  • Explicit logging style with adding log level eks-bootstrap for better troubleshooting
  • Configure container runtime by passing an extra config file
  • Use --reserved-cpus to define cpuset for specific the system/kubernetes daemons
  • Support AWS Outposts for local cluster connection without region access
  • Separate GPU helper outside of bootstrap.sh for explicit GPU setup process
  • Network management/observability with eBPF support
  • Support for using ephemeral NVMe instance storage
