Today is the release of Plucky’s Beta. Below, I have detailed some statistics regarding the current state of the archive and ISOs, to supplement (not replace) information provided by the Ubuntu Release Team.
Please see the previous post: Plucky Puffin Feature Freeze Statistics
For statistics that are not in the public Grafana instance, please do consider adding them.
This page might get updated over time with additional statistics, but they will all have an endpoint of Plucky Beta Release.

Archive and Packaging Statuses
The sponsorship queue has slowly but steadily increased in size between Feature Freeze and Beta. This is an area where extra attention would be appreciated between now and release day.
Here is a table with some statistics, compiled at approximately 20250328T02:00:00Z:
Title | Main | Restricted | Universe | Multiverse | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
FTBFS packages | 13 | 0 | 850 | 30 | 893 |
Outstanding Merges | 140 | 0 | 295 | 3 | 579 |
Packages in Proposed | 30 | 5 | 387 | 12 | 434 |
Uploads This Cycle | 2048 | 66 | 14843 | 135 | 17092 |
Between Feature Freeze and Beta:
- The amount of FTBFS packages have slightly decreased.
- While outstanding non-Universe merges spiked, outstanding Universe merges sharply declined. This could be seen as unusual, but until KDE/LXQt packages can be properly filtered out of that report, this is not a valid metric to be concerned by.
- The size of proposed at Beta is approximately 1/3 of what it was at Feature Freeze. This can be seen as an excellent indicator of progress.
- Almost half of the uploads this cycle happened past Feature Freeze. This could partially be attributed to being a downstream effect of Debian Trixie stabilizing.
State of autopkgtests:
Series | Passed | Failed | Total | % Passed |
