My UbuntuStudio 18.10 system does not like my wife's monitor

The native resolution for my elderly monitor is 1366x768.

Unfortunately, the Display control does not give us that choice.

The closest it comes is 1600x1200 or 1280x720.

1600x1200 almost works the aspect ratio is off. If it wasn’t for the monitor having a big black square with “Input not supported” drifting across the screen it would be tolerable.

1280x720 almost works, but the screen blinks and complains periodically which drives my wife crazy.

I should go spend way too much money on another used low res monitor. Or a beautiful new high res monitor, but I don’t want to spend the money when all I probably need is an obscure incantation in an obscure configuration file.
