Laptop's internal Wi-Fi card stopped working

Currently using Xubuntu 24.04. Just this morning the laptop’s internal wifi card stopped working, and I had to use a plug-in Wifi adapter just to access the internet. When I open the network menu by clicking the icon on the panel, I can select networks on the plug-in adapter, but not the wifi card.

How can I identify and solve the issue with the wifi?

If you run lspci, do you see the build in adapter listed? If not, you’re probably looking at a hardware failure.

So I checked again today and it looks like my built-in adapter is working again, so it might have just been a temporary failure. If something like this happens again I’ll make a new post and run lspci to check what’s going on.
