After running
sudo apt install qgis qgis-plugin-grass
as suggested in the QGIS https://qgis.org/resources/installation-guide in the Linux/Ubuntu section, I get the following issue:
**The following packages have unmet dependencies:**
python3-pil.imagetk: Depends: python3-pil (= 9.0.1-1ubuntu0.3) will be installed
python3-setuptools : Depends: python3-pkg-resources (= 59.6.0-1.2)
The problems couldn't be fixed, you have retained broken packages
I tried several solutions that deal with broken packages and dependencies but to no avail, nothing seem to have changed after updating dependencies etc. Apparently after purging many broken packages I still have some which haven’t been removed/purged.
I also tried installing from within the Software package, with the same result.

I’m on 24.10, but I did play with it a bit on Jammy with no bad results.
I can reproduce if I add the PPA’s from your first link.
So it seems a choice is needed here, stay with the factory sources, or upgrade to 24.04 if you need newer versions of qgis qgis-plugin-grass

Sorry but I don’t totally understand I am new to Ubuntu linux) so I am not totally familiar with some of the terms used.
Remove the PPA/s,… so you are new to ubuntu/linux will you show me this please:
inxi -r
And this please:

Then we can maybe see what is in your sources first.

Run those one line at a time please. And show me the last 10 lines of sudo apt update

What I get is: python3-setuptools is the package whose dependencies aren’t fulfilled. This pkg is depending on python3-pkg-resources (= 59.6.0-1.2) … (or is it the other way round???)59.6.0-1.2ubuntu0.22.04.2 ? (what relationship does this pkg have with python3-whatever?)59.6.0-1.2ubuntu0.22.04.2 is going to be installed (instead of python3-pkg-resources) this is the issue, because it hasn’t the right components needed by python3-setuptools ?
