Impish Indri Online Release Party Planning!

Hello!

As @ian-weisserso wisely pointed out in last week’s Community Office Hours, office hours on October 14 just so happen to coincide with the Impish Indri release, and as he even more wisely pointed out, we should have a party. If you aren’t able to watch the VOD of the stream, here’s the gist of what we’re planning:

Online games :joystick:
BYO Ubuntu themed food and drink (preferably mocktails with the ability to create a ‘cocktail fork’ for anyone who wishes). For a great example, see linuxpaul’s ‘Chelsea Cucumber’ - an Ubuntu MATE themed mocktail! :cupcake: :tropical_drink:
Crafts :yarn:
Digital goodies :floppy_disk:
Special guests :star_struck:
Chill, stream-friendly beats :musical_note:

This will be a long, drop in stream, and will go from 16:00 UTC until at least 19:00 UTC! It is also incredibly informal, and is a chance for those of us who can’t do release parties safely in person to gather together online and celebrate another release well done! We will provide StreamYard links in the stream chats during the event to anyone who would like to join us on camera.

We would LOVE to have your feedback and brainstorming to continue here. For example:

What games would YOU like to play? :game_die:
Do you have any food or beverage recipes to share? (Preferably non-alcoholic beverages with the option of making them alcoholic if community members so choose!) :cake:
Do you have any Ubuntu or Indri themed crafts (lemur-themed origami, for example) people could do to decorate OR do together in the stream? :tada:
Any ideas for digital goodies? (Custom backgrounds, etc.?) :art:
Who could I ask, with puppy dog eyes, to be a special guest?
Any stream-friendly (aka no content strikes) music you’d recommend? :musical_score:
Do you have a LoCo that is safely meeting together that wants to join the online party? :dancer:

And if you have any other online party ideas, please please chat about them here!

I got another mocktail idea, the Yakkety Yak. It’s just a cup of coffee with milk, mostly because people get Yakkety when caffeinated.

And sugar! The sugar definitely ups the yakkety factor.

Indeed it does. I’ll think of some fresh ideas for this.
