Running Ubuntu 24.04.2

Is anyone familiar with Hugin Panarama? I used it a lot a couple of years ago. Returning to it, it did not function as before, so I removed it and installed the latest version (2024.0.1.ead3af10a01a)
Same problems though. A couple of initial ones:

  1. Zoom does not work correctly. I can zoom in with the mouse wheel, but it only into the center of the image. Once zoomed in, I used to move around as in any image app, but I can find no way to do this. Manuals say either cntrl-up arrow (does nothing) or preset zoom percentage from the “network menu”. This menu does not exist at any level (simple, advanced, expert), nor this option anywhere.
  2. Ostensibly control points are added simply by clicking the feature in two of the images. This does nothing, nor cntrl-click, nor shift-cntrl-click, nor multiple clicks.

I’m not familiar with Hugin but I installed (Hugin Version: 2023.0.0.d88dc56ded0e from Ubuntu resources) and tried to stitch some photos. I managed to do it but to me it looks like controls for Hugin don’t work as you expect. I’m also not able to find your mentioned short cuts within help.

Managing control points works in Expert Interface on Tab Control Points.

Thanks. I will try it again. The first two are helpful. I spent a while rummaging thru launchpad but found nothing relevant.
The zoom is the main issue. I suspect I can find a way to resolve the control points issue, but if I can’t zoom to where I need to place them…
