How to replace LibreOffice w/OpenOffice?

Hello,

I have been a long time user of Apache OpenOffice and prefer it to LibreOffice. I am posting this message to ensure I have sound instructions for removing LibreOffice and installing OpenOffice before beginning this change. Internet references appear to exist but I preferred to confirm a given reference is correct before I begin.

Do you regard this as a good reference for me to use?

Please suggest alternatives if necessary.

I wouldn’t consult the Internet in general for anything you could find from the direct original source. In this case, I’d go to openoffice.org. In doing so, I’d find this:

https://www.openoffice.org/download/common/instructions.html#linux

Just follow everything related to “DEBS.”

Also, see at the bottom that there’s an external link to Ubuntu install instructions. Since this is somewhat recommended by the original source, I’d trust this over other options you could find on the Internet as a whole.

On a side note, if you install Ubuntu with the minimal option, it will not install libreoffice at all, that would have saved you from removal
