Well, since you’re playing games through Steam Proton (6.3 or later) on Steam (Including a snap version), you’re experiencing issues due to ibus updates from 1.5.29 to 1.5.30.

There’s an easy fix but I noticed there are two ways to fix that issues, so here are step by steps as an example. Pick one of those steps rather following it in order.

Downgrade ibus version from 1.5.30 to 1.5.29 or older.
(Not so easy to do so, because you need an older version of Ubuntu before continue) -
Or go to Language support and switch Keyboard input method system from ibus to XIM.
(This is an easy fix, because there’s no download required, it’s just there “Available since installing 24.10 or whatever”)
Yes, you might want to either re-login or reboot Ubuntu 24.10 (Just for recommendation).
XIM is an old input method for X Keyboard input experience, but it’s recommended for gaming on Ubuntu, the only con for XIM is not a best choice for different languages like Korean, Chinese or Japanese, but it doesn’t means it’s not going to work on different languages, just a font displays is the only problem.
