Hello everyone I was wondering how I could get rid of the blue color from this top right hand system menu. I have trying to customize my theme and think I might have changed something. Thank you in advance
There is usually no blue found in the themes of a default Ubuntu install, are you using a flavor ? If so, which one …
@RobG As pointed out, we need more information to be able to help you.
At a minimum:
- Ubuntu version
- Desktop environment
- Steps you have taken to change theme or colors
- Preferably a screenshot
Thanks.
Yes I was trying to theme my Ubuntu 24.04 by adding gnome themes but might have did something wrong and changed the defult color. I tried following a YouTube video to make it look like Mac Os even my desktop icone are blue … LOL
Ubuntu 24.04 desktop env Gnome. I was trying to upload a screen shot but it won’t allow me to add a image. Thank you
Name of the theme you tried installing?
Link to the video perhaps?
I installed WhiteSur-dark is seems ok but I don’t care for the blue accent colors , Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQDhTIX4k7s&t=86s
I am using Gnome Tweaks tool to make changes
I am not familiar with this particular theme but from a quick search it likely uses that colour also for menus and icons.
I do not do a lot of customizing, desktop background, maybe a custom scheme for the terminal now and again.
Best to wait for someone with more knowledge in this area to suggest how to tweak or reset the theme.
Thank you brother for your time and suggestions
You could install the package gnome-tweaks, if not installed.

There might be something in there to help you.
Are you sure your version of the theme is actually compatible with the version of GNOME?
AFAIK GNOME decided to completely drop support for theming when it introduced libadwaita a few years ago and now only allows setting accent colors but no actual themes…
I have it installed already
To be honest I am not sure about compatibility I assumed it would work with this verson of Ubuntu
I used the following to customise the top bar in my Ubuntu 22.04. Maybe useful for you.
Thanks for the link I will check it out
