How does Snap work for enterprise?

Hello all,

I’am using here Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

I am in the process of using some apps as Snap here in the company. There’s Discord, Multipass, Pycharm… the problem I’ve run into is that all these apps can’t get internet access. At first I thought my system was broken because it worked at home. But then I realised that it doesn’t work in the company because we use SSL deep inspection through firewalls.

Now snaps do not see CA certificates that have been imported. Is there a separate certstore for snaps?

We store the certificates by default under /usr/local/share/ca-certificates. An “update-ca-certificates” then activates them automatically in /etc/ssl/certs/.

So completly default.
Very thanks
Best Regards

BUMP! We deployed ssl inspection and all applications work besides snaps. We tried putting certs into /etc/ssl/certs.

What Ubuntu Version?

tested here on 22.04 with Discord and Geforce Now -> did not work.

@fireon It is on 22.04 we are having the issue.

We are just disabling snaps, and also opt out a/b user testing, as well as automatic bug reporting. Because we want to see all desktops are at the same version. And we observed, snaps get larger and add up loopback mounts, that are not/never cleaned up.

Here’s how: https://github.com/alexmyczko/autoexec.bat/tree/master/config.sys
